Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJUJ) is a state university established in 1996 through an Act of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha. A dispute is occurred in 2017 for closing the university by the decesion of Govt. of Rajasthan , but this decision has been chalanged in the Hon’ble High Court of Rajasthan and Hon’ble High Court of Rajasthan give stay order on this decision and order give to Rajasthan Govt. that run this University up to next orders of Hon’ble High Court of Rajasthan. In 2019 , Rajasthan State Governmnet cancel his order to close this University and Course case of this University automatically closed.
Here point to be noted that University was not closed in 2017 , and it is running continuously from 1996 to up to date.
Named after an eminent former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Haridev Joshi, who was also a freedom fighter and a committed journalist in the tribal region of Banswara, HJU aims to be one of India’s premier universities dedicated to the study of journalism and mass communication.
